Ronnie L. Rose, 79, of Jonesboro, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018, at NEA Baptist Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born in Kennett, Missouri, Ronnie lived in Jackson, Tennessee, before moving to Jonesboro in 1964. He attended Arkansas State University and worked for CIT Services as an adjuster, Kroger as a journeyman meat cutter and then as a security guard for General Electric in Jonesboro.
In 1968 Ronnie and Susan entered into the rental property investment and management profession and operated that business for 40 years, selling in 2008. Ronnie served 3 1/2 years, from 1963-1966, in the Arkansas Army National Guard. He enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles and through the years he loved roller skating and listening to music.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his father, Bond Rose; his mother, Mildred Roberts Rose Nash; and his sister, Sandra Lee Rose.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Susan Mills Rose of the home, married August 7, 1960;
2 daughters and son-in-law: Paula and Jeff Cooper, and Gala Lee Rose, all of Jonesboro;
2 brothers and sister-in-law: Michael and Charlotte Rose of Jonesboro, and Gary Abernathy of Kennett;
4 grandchildren: Jarrett and his wife Jessica Cooper, Ashlee Cooper, Caraline Vaughn and Matthew Vaughn, all of Jonesboro; and
2 great grandchildren: Hadlee Cooper and Jace Cooper, both of Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Bryce Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Monday.
Active pallbearers include Michael Rose, Jeff Cooper, Jarrett Cooper, Matthew Vaughn,
Cooper Holmes, and Doug Holmes.
