Ronnie Joe Johnson, 74, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.  He was born on June 28, 1949, in Turrell, Arkansas to Ollis and Lucy Johnson.  He had lived in Jonesboro since 1977.  He was of the Baptist belief.  He mostly enjoyed being around family and playing with his grandchildren.  That seemed to be his calling.  When the family got together, he was always happy.  He spent many hours listening to all kinds of music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Johnson; and one sister.

Survivors include his sons, Rob Johnson and Peggy of Paragould; Tim Johnson and wife Stephanie of Jonesboro; brother, Stanley “Pete” Johnson of Bono; sister, Virginia Casper of Walnut Ridge; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6:00 P.M. Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Victor Chamness officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  The visitation will be from 5:00 until service time on Thursday. Burial will be private.
