Ronnie Gene Thomas, 54, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, January 13, 2009, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.
Born in Batesville, Ronnie lived most of his life in Jonesboro. He was a construction contractor and was affiliated with Faith Freewill Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, a former Jonesboro Police Department Reserve Officer and Craighead County Sheriff Reserve Deputy.
He was preceded in death by his step mother, Katherine Thomas.
Survivors include:
3 daughters and sons-in-law: Shawnya and Rickey Kelley,
Lindsay and Josh Bean, and Cassidy Thomas, all of Jonesboro;
His father: Jim Thomas of Batesville;
His mother and step father: Wanda and Bob Ruff of Jonesboro;
3 brothers: J.R. “Rick” Thomas of Jonesboro,
Scott Ruff of Trumann, and
Greg Ruff of Little Rock;
2 sisters: Joni Hall of Jonesboro, and
Debbie Knotts of Cummings, Georgia;
3 Grandchildren: Karrington Kelley, Deacon Thomas, and London Bean
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:00 at Faith Freewill Baptist Church with Ken Winningham officiating. Burial will follow in Nettleton Cemetery.
Pallbearers include Nathan Thomas, Jack McCann, Walter Colbert, Mike Bush,
Mike Miller, and Mike Mashburn.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
