Rohnny B. McDaniel, 73, of Jonesboro, died Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Regional 1 Health in Memphis, Tennessee. He lived most of his life in Jonesboro. Rohnny was a member of the Christian Valley Church. He retired as a Captain with the Jonesboro Police Department and was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was active in fighting for law enforcement officer rights. He served his country in the US Army National Guard 875th Combat Engineering Battalion. Rohnny was an avid reader and learner of life. He enjoyed travelling, gourmet cooking, fishing, all shooting sports and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Carole McDaniel; his parents, Alvia and Aliene McDaniel; and brother, Denzel McDaniel.
Survivors include his sons, Marc McDaniel (Stephanie); Stephen McDaniel (Celeste) of Jonesboro; sisters, Sharon McDonough of Flint Michigan; Marcelle Watts of Clinton, Arkansas; grandchildren, Alec McDaniel, Craig McDaniel, Milan McDaniel, Austen McDaniel, and Haley McDaniel; one great grandchild, Avarie McDaniel and a special cousin, Wanda McDaniel-Patterson.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, May 13, 2016 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Mike Martin officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at McDaniel Cemetery with Austen McDaniel, Alec McDaniel, Craig McDaniel, Milan McDaniel, Johnny McDaniel, Elmer Brown, Allen Keller and Trent Talley serving as pallbearers. The Jonesboro Police Department Honor Guard will present honors. Honorary pallbearers will be members past and present of the Jonesboro Police Department.
