Roger Lee Morphis, 69, of Jonesboro passed from this life Friday, April 15, 2022 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born November 16, 1952 in Newport to the late Robert Lee and Hester Juanita Morphis.
Roger has lived in Jonesboro for over 30 years and was a member of First Christian Church in Jonesboro. Roger retired as a Lieutenant from the Jonesboro Police Department after over 20 years of service and another 15 years across other law enforcement agencies. He was dedicated to his law enforcement duties, but was also very dedicated to his family.
In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Tillman and Rosie Morphis.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janette Morphis of the home; sons, Aaron Morphis and Anthony (Erin) Morphis; brothers, Barry (Phyllis) Morphis, Denny (Debbie) Morphis and Shane (Diane) Morphis; sisters, Rhonda (Len) Nicholas and Janine Lloyd; grandchildren, Megan Morphis, Dalton Morphis, Greenly Morphis and Blakely Morphis.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 5-7 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Don Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Wayne Parnell, Jeremy Parnell, Jackson Parnell, Deacon Parnell, Justin Parnell and Michael Brown.
