Roger Glen Hood, 67, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at St. Bernards Hospital. Born on August 2, 1957, in Illinois, Roger was lovingly raised by Donald and Shirley Hood.
A dedicated football fan, Roger cheered for the L.A. Rams and the USC Trojans with unwavering passion. When he wasn’t enjoying a game, he could often be found working in his yard, a pastime he truly loved. Roger spent the majority of his life in construction, always known for his work ethic, skill, and knack for tinkering with projects around the house.
Roger had a deep passion for life’s simple joys. He loved playing pool, often spending time perfecting his game and enjoying the camaraderie that came with it. Whether it was yard work or just relaxing outdoors, Roger found peace in being outside. He cherished time with his family and friends, always prioritizing them with a heart of gold. A devoted Christian, his faith was a guiding force in his life, shaping his values and actions.
As a father and grandfather, he was loving and dedicated, bringing joy and guidance to those around him. He also had a strong passion for music and movies, often filling his days with his favorite tunes and films. Roger was a man of simple pleasures — he loved his milk, and the freedom he felt when riding his motorcycle brought him great happiness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Shirley Hood; his brother, David Hood Sr.; lifelong partner, Brenda Holder; and his Uncle Jerry Hood.
Roger is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Hood of Jonesboro, and Barbie Hood of Illinois; brothers, Bradley Hood of Jonesboro, Eddie Hood of Illinois, Stevie Hood of Jonesboro, and Donnie Hood of Missouri; his sister, Angie Hood of Jonesboro; and his two beloved grandchildren, Izayah Hood and Farrah Hood.
