Roger Hays

Lynn Roger Hays “Gabby” was born June 25, 1946.  He was born and raised in Lunsford.  He  was immersed into the Christian community and that would be his lifelong support from an early age. Roger was a charter member of the Valley View Missionary Baptist Church.  He was an avid hunter, fisherman and sportsman.

Roger is survived by his sister, Peggy Pendergraft; 3 children, Kristy Adams, Sherry Hogan and Brandon Hays.  He had 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandkids whom he loved dearly along with friends and family, especially his best friend, Charlie Agee.   Roger was preceded in death by Lillian Lanell Hays, Emmett Hays, and his sister Barbara Zimmer.

Roger left to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer.  He was a strong man and defeated it.  While the fight was hard he was tough.  He held his head high and had a smile on his face until the end.  Roger passed away on July 20, 2022.  His legacy will live on forever.

Visitation will be Monday at Emerson Memorial Chapel at 10:00 AM with the service starting at 11:00 AM.
