Rodney Loren Pilgrim

March 17, 1948 — April 14, 2015

Rodney Loren Pilgrim, 67, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.

Rodney was born on March 17, 1948 in Midwest City to the late Marvin and Blanche Cheek Pilgrim. After high school he joined the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. After his service to our country he went to work for the United States Postal Service where he was a carrier for over 35 years. After retirement he enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his family, and watching Red Wolf Sports. His infectious smile and his love for life will be missed but never forgotten.

He survived by his loving wife, Debbie Pilgrim of the home; two daughters, Michelle Wilhoit (Nathan) of Harrah, OK, and Laura Simnacher (Keith) of Hereford, TX; one son, Dr. Shane Hunt (Jenifer) of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Sarah Hunt, Andrew Hunt, Michael Cagle, Kelsey Wilhoit, Hailey Couser, and Bryce Simnacher; four brothers, Marvin Pilgrim Jr.(Anna), TX, Ronnie Pilgrim (Evelyn) both of Arlington, TX, Pat Pilgrim (Darlene) of Yukon, OK, and Chris Pilgrim of Midwest City, OK; father-in-law and mother-in-law, JB Darnell and Wanda Scott both of Jonesboro.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ken Stallings officiating. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
