Robert Warren Kern, 78, of Jonesboro, died peacefully at his home Monday April 5, 2010 with family by his side.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois and had lived in Jonesboro since 1956. He was retired from Arkansas State University in 1993 as the Emeritus Instructor in Printing and Director of the Printing Plant. As a student at Arkansas State University, he was a member of Beta Psi Chapter of TKE. Professionally, he served on the State Printing Board and held an office in the International Graphic Arts Association. He was the commander of the 875th National Guard Engineer A company Battalion.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Elvira Schulberg Kern, one son; Robert O. Kern, one daughter; Cindy Kern Brinkman, 2 sisters and one brother.
Survived by his wife Thelma Wood Kern of the home.
One Son; John Kern of Jonesboro.
One daughter; Ruth Partlow and husband Charles of Columbia, South Carolina.
Two grandsons; Cameron and Kyle Partlow.
Several nieces and nephews.
All service will be private and there will be no visitation.
