Robert Robinson went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, April 23rd at his home.

Visitation will be Saturday evening from 3:00 P.M.- 6:00 P.M., in Emerson’s funeral home with services at 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the sanctuary of Calvary Baptist Church 2731 Paula Dr, Jonesboro. Former pastor will conduct services and long time friend and pastor, Rev. Edgar Sutton, present Pastor Greg Upperman and youth minister Jeremy Keene. Pall Bearers will be Alex, Matt, and John Miller, Ted Herget, James Dawson, Donald Watkins, Mark Haggenmacher, and Kevin Moore Graveside services will follow at City Cemetery in Cave City, AR at 4:30 P.M.

Honorary Pall Bearers will be Charles Berge, Gomer Branscum, Steve Smith, Max Williamson, Robney Smith, Steve Lewis, Willis Green, Jerry Allen, Doyne Brogdon, John Bordon, Eddie Watson, Kenneth Campbell, Roy Croom, David Vance and other members of Calvary Baptist Church. Medical staff at St. Bernard one-day surgery, Dr. Donald Quinn and nurse Melba Thomas, Dr. Roger Hill, Dr. Darlene Shipman, nurse Lynn Long, and Andrea Fenimore, Pharmacists, Tony Bari, and Amy Gibson.

Robert was born in Cave City, AR on May 7, 1928 to the late Frank and Izora Laman Robinson. He grew up in Cave City and attended the Cave City schools.

On November 2, 1946 he married Ruth Ella Landers and moved to Borger TX where he was employed by Laman’s Pipe Line Industries. He moved back to Cave City and was employed by the International Shoe Company for 15 years. He moved his family to Jonesboro in 1961 and was with the Crane Company until they closed in 1980. He was then employed by his son –in- law Charles Miller, President of Miller Building Company. The last 11 years of his employment was spent as Building Superintendent at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

He was a long time member of Grace Baptist Church and a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. He helped to build each of the church buildings, working into the night after completing his secular job. He was a quiet, gentle man who did his service for the Lord by helping to build and maintain the house of Worship. He was a Mr. fix it, who could just about fix or make anything. He will be lovingly remembered by those who knew him for his kind and loving spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant sister Elzora, a brother, Thomas Franklin of Cave City, two half sisters, May Dawson of St Louis, MO, Faye Watkins of Michigan City, IN. His sister-in-law, Yvonne (Jimmie), Green and in-laws Ernest and Althell Landers.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Ruth Ella Landers Robinson, daughter and son-in-law Linda and Charles Miller of Jonesboro, son and daughter-in-law Mark and Karen Robinson of Benton, AR, 7 grandchildren, Amanda Miller Herget, and John Miller of Jonesboro, Alex and Matt Miller of Fayetteville, Reid, Rhett and Rose Elizabeth Robinson of Benton, AR. One Great Grandson, Harrison Miller Herget of Jonesboro. A special nephew and wife James and Dianne Dawson of Grand Blanc, MI, a special niece and sister-in-law, Betty Moore and Jean Robinson of Cave City, two brother-in-laws and their wives Charles and Anita Landers of Cave City and Willis and Shirley Green of Jonesboro and host of other nieces. nephews and cousins, members of the Calvary Baptist Church and a host of other friends. The family request lasting memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church at 2308 Twin Oaks, Jonesboro, AR 72401, or Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund at 1809 Colonial Rd, Jonesboro AR 72401.
