Robert Eugene Vinson, 73, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Robert was born in New Troy, Michigan, on May 31, 1949, to the late Rassie Harlan “Red” and Juanita (Worthington) Vinson. Robert retired from Grafco, Inc in Memphis, Tennessee, after a career spanning over 30 years. Robert designed conveyor systems for warehouse space utilization. He was a hardworking husband, father, and grandfather. Robert was an avid fisherman, enjoyed baseball and was a LA Dodgers and Arkansas Razorbacks fan. He was a devoted Christian. Robert proudly served in the US Army where he was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betsy L. (Shuburte) Vinson and a brother Larry G. Vinson. He is survived by his four children, Robert “Ashley” Vinson of Jonesboro, Kimberly White of Jonesboro, Raymond Vail of Williford, and Roger Lewis of Jonesboro; three brothers Jerry L. Vinson; Ira “Wayne” Vinson both of Jonesboro, and Rick H. Vinson of Birmingham, Alabama; two sisters, Sheralyn Holder of Jonesboro and Carolyn S. Moss of Harrisburg; and five grandchildren, Andrew, Wade, Zach, Lyndsey, and Ashlynn. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Sunday at Emerson Funeral Home with a funeral service at 7 p.m. Rev. Rick Vinson will be officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Andy Anderson, Dan Crane, Gene Floyd, and the Trumann High School class of 1967.
