Robert Michael “Big Ugly” Hughes, 67, of Lunsford passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 at his home. He was born March 22, 1951 in Kennett, Missouri to the late Bob and Peggy Hughes. Michael was of the Baptist belief. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with family. He loved having cookouts for family, friends and his neighbors. Michael was loving and caring to all and wanted others to be happy. He gave good advice and put others first.

In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his daughter, Nikki Hughes; granddaughter, Bailey Johnson; sister, Judy Becker and brother, Keith Hughes.

Survivors include his wife of 16 years, Francine Hughes; daughters, Sonya Johnson, Lisa (David) Hood; sons, Chad Hughes, Bryan Hughes, Charles Kersey; sisters, Tina (Randy) Soyaka, Penny (Jimmy) Best, brother, Tim Hughes; 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be Thursday, July 26 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Charles Kersey officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
