Robert “Brandon” Johnson, 49, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 26, 1976 in Pocahontas to Bobby Yancy and Donzella Arnold.

Growing up in the Biggers-Reno area, Brandon was affectionately known as “Big Worm” by his friends and family. He had a lifelong love for semi trucks and always dreamed of being a truck driver, though his health prevented him from pursuing that career. Brandon enjoyed fishing, basketball, cooking, and especially sharing meals with those he loved. He was known for his sense of humor, his love for family, and the friendships he cherished throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby “Alligator Man” Yancy, Jr.; stepfather, Eddie Arnold; maternal grandparents, Cecil and Renell Johnson; grandmother, Luvenia “Aunt Denie” Goss; brother, Gary “Batboy” Coleman; nephew, Andriphus Jones; aunt, Evelyn Jones; uncle, Dock Goss; and aunt, Mary “Cookie” Wilson.

Brandon is survived by his sons, Kinley “Tater Bug” Johnson, Malachi Johnson, and Ezekiel “Zeek” Johnson; his mother, Donzella Arnold; brothers, Bobby Yancy III and Charles Yancy; sisters, Joyce Jones, Shanita Yancy, and Tamika Capone (Freddie); stepsister, Akosua Valyria Arnold Afriyie; nephews, Joe Goins and Reggie Goins; uncles, Charles Goss, Vince “Butch” Wilson, Lawrence “Vooda” Wilson, and Pete Johnson; aunts, Marilyn “Peaches” Goss, Bettye Wilson, and Laura Jones; nieces, Tamia Capone and Dainire Nelson; close friend, Amy Huddleston; cousins, Mark Goss, Sam Goss, Ruthie “Shaun” Robinson, Creston “CC” Bennett, Caiden Bennett, Chanara Bennett, Deaja “DD” Hubbard, Dena Goss, Kamoney Randall, Sharnique Dow, Brayla Souder, Ashara Dow, Aarrion Dow, Vincent Wilson, Valencia Wilson, Tatum Washington, Caleph B. Wilson, Noura Wilson, Akil Wilson, Joesph “Joe” Wilson, Isaiah Wilson, and Lawren Wilson; and a host of extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Emerson Funeral Home. Burial will be private.
