Robert Earl Hunter, 88, of Paragould, Arkansas, died Wednesday at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.
Mr. Hunter was a native and life-long resident of Craighead County before moving to Paragould 3 years ago. He was a retired warehouse manager for Jonesboro Grocer Company and was a member of Christian Valley Christian Church.
Mr. Hunter was active in the Harlan Henry Senior Citizen Center and was a U.S. Navy veteran of W.W. II. Mr. Hunter and 3 of his brothers: Ezra, Eugene, and Vivian, all served in W.W. II at the same time. Robert was preceded in death by his wife: Velma Mae Hunter; by 3 brothers: Ezra Hunter, Eugene Hunter, and Glenn Hunter; and by 1 sister: Ruth Stephens.
Survivors include:
4 Sons: Billy Dean Hunter of Lafe,
Earl Otto Hunter of Jonesboro, and
Robert Lee Hunter, and
Danny Lynn Hunter, both of Paragould;
4 Daughters: LaWanda Francine Holcomb, and
Alice Ann Ruth, both of Rock Falls, Illinois, and
Nettie Irene Dever of Sterling, Illinois, and
Sandra Kaye Sisson of Paragould;
1 Brother: Vivian Hunter, Jr. of Jonesboro;
2 Sisters: Myrtle Cheshier of Wichita, Kansas, and
Ethel Harris of Jonesboro;
21 Grandchildren,
31 Great Grandchildren, and
1 Great, Great Grandchild.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 at Macedonia Cemetery with Bro. Eldon Richardson officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.
Active pallbearers include grandsons: Eugene Hunter, Brian Hunter, Chad Sisson,
Aaron Michael Hunter, Glenn Hunter and Jared Hunter.
Honorary pallbearers include grandsons: Billy Hunter, Ray Hunter, Gary Holcomb, Mike Dever, Dean Ruth, Ethan Hunter, Jacob Hunter, Travis Hunter, John Pope,
Aaron Robert Hunter, and Alvin Hunter.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-8 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
