Robert (Bob) Douglas, 83, of Jonesboro passed from this life Sunday, April 4, 2021 at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born to the late Lewis and Roxie Golden Douglas in Paragould on February 5, 1938.
Bob was raised in Dixie and resided most of his adult life in Jonesboro and was of the Baptist belief. He worked for many years for Austin Brothers Construction. Before Bob became disabled, he enjoyed working in the yard, camping at Clear Water Lake and spending time with his family and friends. Bob proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Betty Douglas; daughter, Gina Andrews; daughter in law, Nikki King; four brothers, Loy Douglas, Chester Douglas, Sylvester Douglas, and Calvin Douglas.
Bob is survived by his son, Bobby Douglas of Jonesboro; daughter, Shawna (Cris) Nunez of Jonesboro; sister in laws, Joy Sartin of Jonesboro and Mary Lou Douglas of Hot Springs; six grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 12-2 Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home.
A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Pine Log Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Adcox officiating. Active pallbearers will include Bobby Douglas, Cris Nunez, Marty Pope, Sydney Reeves, Rusty Sartin, and Tony Sartin.
