On Monday, August 8 th , 2022, at 9:05pm, Robert Dean Cheshier, of Jonesboro, AR passed away at the age of 64 years old.
“Bob” as he preferred to be called was born to parents Charles “Chuck” Dean Cheshier and Barbara Jeanette Cheshier (née Davidson) in North Hollywood, CA on April 5 th , 1958. Bob was preceded in birth by oldest sister Debby and older brothers Dave and Chuckie. They resided in Burbank for the next 4 years until relocating to their hometown of Simi Valley, CA in 1962. Bob would go through schooling in Simi Valley, creating his group of friends and acquaintances, some of whom he has kept in contact with throughout the years. Instead of attending class to graduate, he would rather be in the parking lot with his friends, their cars, and their stereos at full blast.
Bob met the love of his life, Michelle “Misty” Hilliard in October 1987. The two instantly bonded over their love of music by Led Zeppelin, and from there the sky was the limit. Bob and Misty were married August 27 th , 1988, in Las Vegas, NV, and joined their families back in Simi Valley until 1990 when they would relocate to Bakersfield, CA.
Misty was the bedrock that Bob built his entire foundation upon, and their relationship burned brighter than the sun. Bob was the man who rose to work for his family, through thick and thin, sick or health. He always put his commitment to his family as his priority and never wavered. From afar you would see a 6’4”, 300lb man chiseled from blue-collar labor, but once you knew him, you realized he was one of the most gentle, caring people you would meet. The impact of his character resounded throughout the people he touched in his life, whether they be coworkers, employees, friends, acquaintances, or family.
Through his childhood and teenage years, Bob’s father owned C&M Concrete, a commercial construction company located out of Simi Valley, CA. Growing up around construction, he was talented in picking up the trade and by senior year of high school, realized his career path of construction required his full attention. Following those years, he quickly worked up the ranks and progressed in the trade to eventually become a superintendent, then later a business owner.
Upon retirement in 2018, Bob, Misty, and Chuck moved back to Chuck’s hometown of Jonesboro, AR. With his newfound free time, Bob along with his cousin David frequently completed woodworking jobs, fished until past midnight in Heber Springs, and took trips around the area that he was unfamiliar with, yet he loved to explore his new home. Whether it was the frequent thunderstorms, the friendliness of the community, or the beauty of the landscape, he was enamored with Jonesboro and never felt more at home.
Bob was the pinnacle of what it is to be a loving father, attentive husband, and devout follower of Jesus Christ. Whenever he was away from his children, even for a day, he would call and check in. It was a daily routine of his through all his children’s lives to call them and let them know that he was always there. Whenever Misty was away, he would look forward to their reunification relentlessly no matter their time spent apart. As a man of faith, he spent many hours in study and devotion of the word of our Father and Savior. Like the concrete he shaped with his hands, he shaped his life into a foundation that our family rested our love, hope, and trust on. Upon his passing, the foundation he created remains strong, sturdy, and reliable for all who come to share in his memories and rejoice in his everlasting life.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father, Chuck and Jeanette; brothers Chuckie and Dave; and best friends Jerry Miller and Dave Bourland. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Misty Cheshier; daughter and son-in-law Amber and Nick Adams, their children Julie, Hailey, Kellcie, and Preston, and great-granddaughter Elayna; daughter Krystal Robertson with her son Anthony Contreras; daughter and son-in-law April and Brendan McCarthy with his granddogger Zoey and grandkitter Mia; son and daughter-in-law Jake and Sequoia Cheshier, with their son Ares; sister and brother-in-law Debby and Dan Petersen with their children Scott and Jody; Chuckie and Deanna’s children Josh and Jennifer; daily companions David and Cheryl Head, and Jeanie and Gaylon Gibson; sister-in-law Jenee Hilliard; brother-in-law Loren Hilliard; nieces and nephews Jessica and Justin Morrow, Joshua and Shawna Morrow, Kagan Forrester, Brittany and Seth Bentley, Daizee and Alex Santos, Demi Hilliard and lifelong friends Jesse Britton, Tim Scott, Jon Nelson, Speedy Troncale, Ken Butler, Paul Vollmer, and many many others who we wish we could honor.

I would still be loving you
When mountains crumble to the sea
There will still be you and me
