Robert Douglas Chastain

Mr. Robert Douglas Chastain of Jonesboro, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at the age of 81. He was born January 11, 1940, to the late Clarence and Claudia Chastain.

Robert was Owner and Operator of his own truck for 35 years or more. He spent so long trucking when he retired, he would always be tinkering or repairing things, he was “Mr. Fix It”. When he wasn’t in the shop, he would be making pies and cooking which he loved to do. Most of all Robert loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents Robert is preceded in death by; one brother, Dorman Chastain; two sisters, Claudette Jackson, Freda Smith; one grandson, Ryan Stevens.

Mr. Chastain is survived by his lovely wife of 62 years Joyce Chastain of the home; two sons, Jim ( Jewell Etta) Chastain of Jonesboro, Rob Chastain of Jonesboro; one daughter, Pam (Terry) Edwards of Jonesboro; two brothers, L.D. Chastain of Little Rock, Donald Chastain of Jonesboro; one sister, Betty Swinney of Phil Campbell, AL; two grandchildren, Aaron (Lynette) Chastain of Jonesboro, Cory (Maggie) Chastain of Memphis; one granddaughter in-law, Candi Stevens of Jonesboro; three great grandchildren, Judd Chastain, Luke Chastain, Ayla Stevens all of Jonesboro; six bonus great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

Friends may visit at Emerson Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 20, 2021, beginning at 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
