Robert C. Townsend, 75, of rural Jonesboro, died Friday, September 12, 2008, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.
Born in Warm Springs, Robert lived much of his life in the Jonesboro area. He was a retired factory worker and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Robert was preceded in death by his parents: Daily and Ada Howard Townsend; by 3 sons: Bobby, Dale and Timothy Townsend; and by 1 brother: Roy Townsend.
Survivors include his wife: Lois Townsend of the home;
1 Son: Jimmy Townsend of Maynard;
2 Daughters: Dianne Finley of Pocahontas, and
Kimberly Johnston of Forrest City;
3 Brothers: George Townsend of Tennessee,
M.T. Townsend of Warm Springs, and
Coy Townsend of Supply;
3 Sisters: Pansy Driskill of Warm Springs,
Oma Townsend of Oklahoma, and
Moreda Townsend of Arkansas; and
5 Grandchildren.
All services will be private. There will be no visitation. The body will be donated to medical science.
