Robert Broughton

Robert “Bob” Broughton, 84, of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, died Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Craighead County Nursing Center. He was a member and past deacon of the First Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge, a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Bob is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Sue Dunham Broughton, of the home; three daughters, Suzanne Schlueter and husband Gary, Bono; Sandy Uran and husband John, Rossville, Tennessee; Sharon Grogan and husband Bill, Paragould, Arkansas; two brothers, James Broughton, Nashville, Tennessee; Charlie Broughton, St. Louis, Missouri; four grandsons, B. J. Schlueter, Brandon Schlueter, Robert Grogan and Lee Grogan.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January, 29, 2009 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gerald James officiating and burial to follow at Trinity Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are sons-in-law and grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Russell Dunham, Bill Grogan Sr., George Uran, Tom Sloan, Marcy Harrell, Gale Brewer, Bobby Davis, Ralph Clark and the staff of Craighead County Nursing Center. Visitation will from 5-7 Wednesday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
