Robert Lee Box

Robert Lee Box, 93, of Pocahontas passed from this life Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Randolph County Nursing Home in Pocahontas. He was born April 5, 1928 in Tuckerman to the late Harley and Sylla Box.

Robert moved away from Jonesboro to Pocahontas 7 years ago and was a member of the Pocahontas United Methodist Church. He graduated from Dixie High School in 1945 and went on to graduate from the University of Arkansas with an Agri degree in 1950. Robert was a farmer and taught Agri at Dixie and taught many of the FFA members to water-ski. He was also a mentor to many young farmers. He was an avid golfer, and was past President of the Arkansas Senior Golf Association.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his son, Bobby Box; daughter, Becky Baker; sister, Lorene Rogers; brother, Gene Box and a nephew, Fred Box.

Robert is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Joyce Box; daughter, Brenda Box-Forthmon (Ronnie); son-in-law, Tom Baker; grandchildren, Derek Pike, Shea (Ryan) Helms and Alison Pike; great-grandchildren, Jace Pike, Ava Helms, Lillie Pike and Dani Pike; niece, Terry Rogers and nephews Teddy (Cathy) Rogers, Gene Rogers, and Gregg (Sheila) Garner.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm Friday, December 3, 2021 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Pat Bodenhamer officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pocahontas United Methodist Church 400 N. Thomasville Pocahontas, AR 72455.
