Robert “Bob” Shoemaker, 70, of Jonesboro, died Friday at NEA Medical Center. He had lived in Jonesboro for about 40 years, moving here from Aurora, Missouri. He was a retired Service Technician from United Shoe Machinery.
He loved to hunt, fish, camp, and garden. He also loved to work with his hands and do woodwork. He attended the Church of God Seventh Day.
Mr. Shoemaker was preceded in death by his parents, Bill & Ava Carpenter Shoemaker; 3 brothers, Charles Shoemaker, Dale Shoemaker, and Jim Shoemaker.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lola Shoemaker of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Harold & Jamie Shoemaker, Cabot, Gerald & Dana Shoemaker, Paragould, Darrell Shoemaker, Bay; daughter and son-in-law, Vicky & John Stogsdill, Jonesboro; his brothers, Bill Shoemaker, Houston, Glenn Shoemaker, Aurora, MO, Gary Shoemaker, Aurora, MO, J.D. Shoemaker, Springfield, MO; sisters, Marie Ragain, Verona, MO, and Regina Eiker, Mexico, MO.
Mr. Shoemaker is also survived by his grandchildren, Riley Daniel Scruggs, Whitney Shoemaker, Lindsey Shoemaker, Ashley Shoemaker, Brittani Shoemaker, Lydia Shoemaker, and Sydney Shoemaker.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Dwayne Ford officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
