Robert "Bob" Eugene Johnson

Robert “Bob” Eugene Johnson, 80, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on January 4, 2024 at St. Bernards Medical Center. Bob was born in St. Louis on June 21, 1943 to the late Harry Johnson and Alline Wilkerson. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Lynn Johnson and his first wife, Mary Jane Davidson-Johnson.

Bob moved to Northeast Arkansas from California over sixty years ago. As he started his life in Jonesboro, he joined a group of people in establishing the Jonesboro Jaycees. At one point, Bob served as chairman of the board and President of the organization. In his younger days he had an aptitude for physical fitness. Over the years, Bob’s love of physical fitness would evolve into coaching youth sports. He had very fond memories serving the community and shaping its youth coaching baseball, basketball, and football. Bob was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and loved everything Razorback sports; and spent many years restoring old Mustang cars. Most importantly, Bob loved being with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Linda Johnson of the home; aunt, Ruby Douglas of St. Louis; son, Robert Sean Johnson (Sara) of Jonesboro; daughter, Monica Susanne Vail (John) of Jonesboro; brother, Richard Johnson (Karen) of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Alan, Blake, Alexa, Tanner, Cody, Sydney, and Jaden; 4 great-grandchildren and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.
