Ricky “Buck” Edward Warren, 72, of Bay, passed away on September 2, 2026 at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City. He was born in Jonesboro on May 11, 1954 to Earl Warren and Leola Bruner Warren.

A lifetime resident of Bay, Buck graduated from Bay High School in 1972. He joined the United States Air Force and attained the rank of sergeant during the Vietnam War. He then went on to build a career at City Water & Light, retiring after 36 years. Buck was a member of the Bay Church of Christ where he enjoyed services and fellowship with his family and friends.

Buck loved anything science fiction. He enjoyed reading sci-fi novels, watching films, and talking to other sci-fi fans. He loved making day trips and getting out exploring flea markets or just enjoying the day with family and friends. Buck was a people person. He was good-natured and never met a stranger. Above all else, Buck loved spending time with his family, and being “Papaw” to his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Buck is preceded in death by his brother, Michael “Buddy” Warren, brothers-in-law, Jim Spencer and Charles Nance, and his best friend, Donnie Davis.

Buck is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Karen Warren of the home; daughter, Jessica Warren of Trumann; son, Justin Warren and wife Rebecca of Brookland; brother, Butch Warren and wife Judy of Marion; sister, Vickie Davison of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Ashlyn Warren, Brooke Warren, Aidyn Brown, and Anna Brown; great-grandchildren, Emery, Elana, and Cedric; many nieces and nephews; and a lifetime of friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Mitch Sparks and Gary Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.

Active pallbearers include: Brad Boyd, Ricky Lloyd, Robbie Spencer, Shannon Davison, Tyler McDaniel and Kyle Birmingham. Honorary pallbearers include: Gaylon and Janice Ann McDaniel, Sharon Nance, Molly Spencer, Dean and Brenda Boyd, Jeremy Spencer, Andrea Spencer, and the Bay High School Class of 1972.
