Rick Smith

Rick Smith, 57, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday morning, April 11, 2011, at St. Bernards Medical Center while surrounded by family and friends. He was born November 6, 1953, in Jonesboro.

Rick is survived by two children: Andrea Harder of Lake City and Jacob Smith of Conway; his mother, Peggy Blair, Rick’s father and his wife, Bill and Patricia Smith, his sister, Joyce Seabaugh, and his brother, Ron Smith, all of Jonesboro. Rick is also survived by three granddaughters, Casandra, Desirea, and Jesica, all of Lake City.

Rick served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy from 1978-1982. He left a host of friends from his years of service at St. Bernard’s Medical Center where he worked 25 years as a CT Technician. Rick was an active member, officer, and brother to his wonderful friends at the Jonesboro Elks Lodge.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Don Blackmore and Guy Delaney officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Active pallbearers include: Jacob Smith, Shane Davis, Dennis Darrow, Brian Silsbee, Kevin Higgins, Russell Daugherty, Nelson Childers, and Dale Field. Honorary pallbearers include members of the Jonesboro Elks Lodge.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
