Richard L. Wooldridge, 55, of Jonesboro passed away from natural causes on January 12, 2018 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  He was born to Otis L Wooldridge and Virginia Ann Wooldridge on June 16, 1962 in Blytheville, AR.

Richard attended Nettleton High School where he was known as “Wooley”, not only because of the name Wooldridge, but because he was “wooley”, headed and how he played sports.  Richard’s relay team held state records, but he truly excelled on the football field. He graduated in 1981, worked for Pepsi Co., Blytheville Bearing, and proceeded into the industrial manufacturing field.

His hobbies included, sprint car races in West Memphis, WWF wrestling, and eating BBQ and catfish.

Throughout Richard’s life, he was a very giving person.  His heart truly overflowed with love for his family and friends.

Preceding him in death is his father, Otis Wooldridge Jr.; paternal grandparents, Otis Sr. and Lantha Wooldridge of Half Moon, AR; as well as his maternal grandparents, Drew and Helen Connor Richardson of Blytheville, AR.

He is survived by his mother, Virginia Ann Wooldridge of Branson, MO; one daughter, Amber Wooldridge- Boyette, her husband Blair, grandson, Marshall of Maumelle, AR; 2 brothers, Neal Wooldridge of Paragould, AR and Greg Wooldridge of Batesville, AR; 2 nieces, Ashley Purcell and Jessica Carter, two great nephews, Athyn Little and Eligh Carter.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 16, at 2:00 pm in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Tim Ohler officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.
