Richard Charles Suhl

Richard Charles Suhl, 76, of Cherry Valley, died Tuesday afternoon at his home. He had lived in Cherry Valley for the past 9 years, moving from Moline, Illinois. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Mr. Suhl was retired as an assembler for Montgomery Elevator Company and an avid NASCAR fan. He loved taking care of and spending time with his 3 dogs, Amanda, Mike, and Tammy.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Vera Suhl of the home. He is also survived by his sons and daughter, Carl Anderson, of Silvis, Illinois, Jim Anderson, of Moline, Illinois, Kathy Engle, of Hampton, Illinois; his grandchildren, Michael, Jacob, Daniel, Zachary, Lisa, James II; and his great-grandchildren, Keegan, Nichole, and Lucas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester & Fern Goth Suhl; and his brother, Robert Suhl.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Cherry Valley United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim West officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements. Interment will be at Moline Riverside Cemetery in Moline, Illinois at a later date.
