Richard E. Story

Richard E. Story, 74, of Brookland passed from this life Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 22, 1941 in Brookland to the late John and Norma Story. Richard lived his entire life in Brookland where he also attended Woods Chapel Baptist Church.

Richard loved his family and enjoyed spending his time with them. He was also well loved by all his family and friends. Richard was a strong supporter of our U.S. Military. He was such a happy man who enjoyed life and will be missed dearly by all.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Story of forty-four years; two brothers: Dale Story and John Story; and three sisters: Sue Langston, Linda Adams, and Judy Minga.
Richard is survived by two sons: Rick (Laurie) Story of Brookland and Randy Story of Lynn; one daughter: Rita (Larry) Jones of Brookland; three brothers: Donald (Phylliss) Story of Pyatt, Ronnie (Kathy) Story of Williford, and Roy Story of Brookland; two sisters: Betty Copeland and Pam (Jerry) Mullins both of Brookland; five grandchildren: Tony Story, Amber Shell, Bowen Jones, Trevor Jones, and Daphne Story; and two great-grandchildren: Jaxson Shell and Darby Story.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Emerson Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Pierce Cemetery at Friendly Hope Baptist Church with Rick Hathcoat officiating.
