Richard “Scotty” Lydon, 90, of Jonesboro formerly of Little Rock passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born December 13, 1930 in Swissvale, Pennsylvania, but was raised in Scotland, United Kingdom. Scotty was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for Falcon Jet in Little Rock for over 20 years. After moving to Jonesboro Scotty worked as a door greeter at Wal-Mart for several years. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. Scotty enjoyed crafts and making bird houses. He loved dancing at the senior center in Jonesboro, Bono and Trumann. At the senior center they would do the waltz, two step and jitterbug.
Scotty was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Dale Lydon and parents, Patrick and Mary Lydon.
Survivors include his step-son, Bobby Weaver of Jonesboro; step-daughter, Robin (Steve) Tidwell of Jonesboro; 3 step-grandchildren: Melissa (Tim) Mayfield of Jonesboro, Stephanie Tidwell of Jonesboro, Ashley (Josh) Anderson of Lake City and 3 great grandchildren: Kinsleigh House of Jonesboro, Adley Anderson of Lake City and Theodore Mayfield of Jonesboro.
Memorial service will be Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jerry Parker officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial will be private.
