Richard Alan Murray

Richard Alan Murray, 74, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, February 5, 2022. He was born on September 21, 1947 in Pine Bluff to Clyle and Pauline Murray. He earned his masters degree from Arkansas State University. Richard was a retired therapist and enjoyed playing his saxophone and writing poetry and songs. Richard had a kind heart and benevolent spirit and was always willing to help someone in need. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyle and Pauline Murray.

He is survived by his soulmate, Jeri Lyn Mays of Jonesboro; brother, Jim Murray (Luci) from Jonesboro; and sister, Shirley Summers of Bryant. Richard also leaves behind a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home.

Burial will be private.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
