Richard S. Flemon, 73, of Jonesboro died Thursday, May 16, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He had lived in Jonesboro all of his life and was a member of the Mount Carmel Methodist Church. Richard served in the US Army National Guard 875th and was retired from Southern Marketing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Ara Flemon, and brother, Barry Flemon.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Dollie Flemon, of the home; son, Kenneth Flemon (Awanna); daughters, Angie Preston (Scott); Danna Williams (Allen); brothers, C. H. Flemon, Bill Flemon, Danny Flemon, Michael Flemon, and Mark Flemon; sisters, Loyce Morgan and Joyce Taylor; grandchildren, Stephen, Dylan, Carter, Murphy, Chandler, Spencer, Cooper, Hayden, and Morgan, all of Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be 3:30 PM, Sunday, May 19, 2013 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Edward Pruitt officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Keller’s Chapel Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Flemon, Scott Preston, and Allen Williams. Visitation will be from 2:30 until service time on Sunday.
