Richard E. Pierce

Richard Pierce, 78, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, March 7, 2009, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born to Bill and Audrey Pierce, Richard grew up
in Jonesboro. Richard moved to Detroit working
for General Motors 32 years. Retiring in 1980,
Richard returned to Jonesboro and attended
The (Ephesus) Church of God.

Richard was a giving person responsible for sponsoring many
people through the AA program. Richard was
always there, laughing and enjoying people
around him.

He is survived by Gwen Pierce (wife) of Searcy, Barbara and Larry Carter (daughter and son-in-law) of Jonesboro; Janet
and Sam Hall (daughter and son-in-law) of
Jonesboro; Linda and Wayne Mannis (daughter
and son-in-law) of Lake City; Audrey Elkins
(daughter) of Alpenia, Michigan; 13
grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents, Bill and Audrey Pierce; a
sister, Edith Miller; and daughter, Wilma Joyce.

Viewing will be Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Emerson Funeral
Home. Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Nettleton Cemetery with Pastor Ken Jones Officiating.
