Richard Coffman

October 1, 1946 — July 31, 2008

Richard “Rick” Coffman, 61, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. Rick had lived in the Jonesboro area all of his life and was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He loved the game of softball and played in multiple leagues. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and worked in the Hytrol Engineering Department for 27 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bell Coffman, two brothers and two sisters.

Rick is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sherri Coffman, of the home; daughters, Amanda Hanley and husband Timothy, Jacksonville, N. C.; Erin Cooper and husband, Kyle, Jonesboro; two sisters, Kathryn Stoker and Othella Vaughn, both of Brookland, Arkansas; grandchildren, Cody Hanley, Connor Hanley, Kayla Cooper and Katie Cooper.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Jerry Jolly officiating and burial to follow at Pine Log Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers are Terry Zipfel, Matt Zipfel, B.J. Zipfel, James Finley, Phil Manry, Kyle Cooper and Jimmy Casey. Honorary pallbearers are the Finley Softball teams and the Hytrol Engineering Department. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Friday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
