Reverend James Walter Veal, 79, of Trumann died Saturday March 13, 2010 at the Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
He was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas and had lived in Trumann for 13 years moving there from Jonesboro. He was a member of the Church of Lord Jesus Christ where he served as pastor for 33 years, and was a preacher for 47 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Viola Canamore Veal, 3 brothers, Laverne, Jerry and Larry Veal.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Imogene Veal of the home.
Three daughters, Diann Carson of Henderson, Tennessee, Martessia Morphis of Trumann and Beck Perkins and husband Joe of Jonesboro.
Two brothers, Carlos Veal of La Porte, Indiana and Terry Veal of Jonesboro.
Two sisters, Lawanda Franks of McRae, Arkansas and Geraldine Reeves of Bay, Arkansas.
Seven grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 16, 2010 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Reverends Lynn Vincent and Buddy Moore officiating. Burial will be at Nettleton Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.
Pallbearers will be James Carson, Daniel Carson, Joseph Perkins, John Franks, Steve Franks and Jason Reeves.
Visitation will be from 5-8:00 P.M. Monday March 15, 2010 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
