Rev. James (Jim) Ural Richmond, 74, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. He was born to the late Ural and Elizabeth Richmond on September 3, 1946 in Saffell, Arkansas. Jim has lived in the Jonesboro area since 1973 serving as a Pentecostal preacher for over 40 years. He owned and operated Richmond Building in Jonesboro for many years. He then worked as a supervisor for Vance/Nabholz Construction until retirement. Jim enjoyed gardening, building, and spending time with his grandchildren. Jim is also preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence Richmond and J.C. Richmond; and one grandchild, Matthew Wrinkles.
Jim is survived by his sons, Bryan Richmond of Jonesboro, Daniel Richmond (Mylene) of Southaven, MS, Jonathan Richmond (Bessie) of Jonesboro, Joseph Richmond (Jeannie) of Jonesboro, Shannon Richmond (Kristin) of Jonesboro, Johnny Richey of Jonesboro, Bruce Duncan (Linda) of Jonesboro; daughters, Stephanie Davis (Tony) of Mitchell, AL, Amanda Smith of Jonesboro, Ginger Niswonger (Joshua) of Jonesboro, Priscilla Halverson (Todd) of Jonesboro; brother, O’Neal Richmond of Lynn, Arkansas; sister, Dianne (Dee) Daggett of Walls, MS; sister-in-law, Peggy Richmond of Cord, Arkansas; life-long friend and mother of his children, JoAnn Richmond of Jonesboro. Jim also leaves behind 29 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
The visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at Emerson Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Huff and Rev. Marty Russell officiating. The burial will follow at Lincoln Ward Cemetery near Saffell, Arkansas.
