Rev. Donald Calhoun

September 10, 1929 — December 11, 2011

Donald Calhoun, 82, of Leachville, Arkansas passed away on December 11, 2011 as a result of a long battle with cancer. His family and friends were by his side when he went home to be with the Lord.

Donald was called to be a pastor by our Lord Jesus Christ and served with Vassar Park, Bethel and Corunna Road Baptist churches in Michigan as well as Clark’s Chapel in Arkansas. Donald also served as a deacon for First Baptist Church of Bay, Arkansas.

Donald is survived by his wife Vivian Lavay Calhoun, children Sharen Long and husband Roy Long, Judy Snyder and husband Paul Snyder, Gary Calhoun and wife Tandra Calhoun, eight grandkids and seven great grandkids. He is also survived by three brothers, Tom Calhoun, Bill Abernathy and Raye True and his close friends Patsy and Jerry Davidson as well as a host of other friends.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro Arkansas. The funeral will be held at 10:00 AM on December 14, 2011 at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Visitation will Tuesday December 13, 2011, from 6-8pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

Pall bearers are as follows: Randy Mink, Dale Wood, Tommy Hancock, Barry Vincent, David Webb and Bobby Southard.

Honorary servants, the First Baptist of Bay Men’s Sunday School class.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donations to the Bay First Baptist Church building fund or the American Cancer Society.
