Retired Colonel Henry Shero

Retired Colonel Henry Carter Shero, 68, of Jonesboro died Sunday February 1, 2009 at his home.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and lived in Jonesboro for two years, moving here from Mountain View, Missouri. He was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his father, Carter Shero.

Colonel Shero served in the Vietnam War and retired to the Maryland Air National Guard in 1995.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Shero, of the home; one son Nathan Shero and fiancé Catherine Evers of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one daughter, Jennifer Hutchinson and husband Chris, Jonesboro, Arkansas; mother, Rocele Shero, Gatewood, Missouri; one sister, Imogene Ninness, Gatewood, Missouri; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M, Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church with Reverend Tommy Toombs officiating. A committal service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, February 6, 2009 at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan, Arkansas with Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro in charge. There will be no public visitation.
