Retha Hufstedler, 85, of Egypt, died Friday,June 7, 2013,at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She had lived her life in Egypt and was a member of the Egypt Church of Christ. Retha loved to play the game Upwords with friends, family and grandson Andy. She enjoyed cooking, and church activities. Retha was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer “Mink” Hufstedler; parents, Jackson and Stella Bridges Prater; five brothers and one sister.
Survivors include her sons, Dorman (Annette) Hufstedler of Egypt; Mack (Mary) Hufstedler; Steve Hufstedler and Rodney (Lisa) Hufstedler; daughter, Beverly Hall all of Jonesboro; brothers, Houston Prater of Jonesboro and Charley Prater of Paragould; grandchildren, Kevin (Becky) Hufstedler, Blake (Ashley) Hufstedler, Andy Hufstedler, Brett Hufstedler, Gatlin Hufstedler, Daniel Hufstedler, and Shannon (Rodney) Horton; great grandchildren, Cody Horton, Elizabeth Hufstedler, Dylan Hufstedler, Jackson Hufstedler, Jason Hufstedler and Justin Hufstedler.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, June 10, 2013 at the Egypt Church of Christ with Dr. Jimmy Adcox and Kenneth Gossett officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Lawrence Memorial Gardens with Grandsons, Kevin, Blake, Andy, Brett, Gatlin, Daniel and great grandson, Cody serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are great grandchildren and spouse, Shannon Horton (Rodney) Elizabeth, Dylan, Jackson, Jason and Justin. Visitation will be from 5-7 Sunday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
