Obituary

Elrena Rodgers, 101, a longtime resident of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away on March 8, 2026, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.

She was born on March 6, 1925, in Light, Arkansas to the late Telfer and Gladys Garner. Rena was of Baptist belief and was a long-time member of Prospect Missionary Baptist Church. Rena and her late husband Frank owned a Borden milk company for 20 years. Rena was a person of strong will who loved enjoying life even out partying at 101. She was a beautiful person with a kind and caring heart, who went above and beyond in life by taking in and raising her grandson Shane McIntosh and later her great grandson Aiden Anderson. She had many hobbies and interests. However, her greatest love is and has always been real estate. She also loved spending Friday nights out with her grandson Shane at the Peterson Auction, which she referred to as the hootenanny. She also loved listening to music, watching her tablet, which she called her Pager or Scanner, and working and burning leaves in her yard, and anything else in her way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rodgers, as well as six of her beloved brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her one son Ranny Rodgers of Jonesboro, one daughter Robin Rodgers-Bradley of Jonesboro. Her youngest sister Jenna Mays of Little Rock, four grandchildren Michelle Counce (Danny), of Alabama, Shanna Jimerson (Jimmy) of Mississippi, Shane McIntosh (Magan) of Jonesboro, and Jessica Hogan of Jonesboro, as well as many great grandchildren, along with several great great grandchildren and a host of dear friends.

The visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Emerson Funeral Home. The service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Bro. Graig Stull officiating. The burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shane McIntosh, Aiden Anderson, Malachi McIntosh, Adrian McIntosh, Shannon Stull, and Kevin Neece.
