Raymond Jackson "Jack" Gilbert

Raymond Jackson “Jack” Gilbert, 85, of Jonesboro passed away from this life on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at St Bernards.

He was born on February 25, 1927 in Jonesboro to the late W.A. and Maggie Herron Gilbert. He married Elroy Pittman on September 26, 1954. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retired mechanic from Craighead County Road Department. Jack attended the Living Word Church of God.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Elroy Gilbert of the home; one son, Mike Gilbert and his wife Cindy of Gosnell; one grandson, Kevin Gilbert of Jonesboro and his mother Leigh Ann Banks of Brookland; one sister, Audrey Cox of Jonesboro; two step grandchildren; Amanda Casey and her husband Garrett of Blytheville, and Jeremiah Binkard and his wife Rhonda of Lebanon, TN; two great grandchildren; Lily and Weston Binkard of Lebanon, TN; two very special friends, Jerry Darr of Jonesboro and Shirlene McFadden of Kensett; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.

There will be no visitation, and all other services will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
