Raymond Allen

Raymond K. Allen, Jr., 83, of Jonesboro died Tuesday at St. Bernards Medical Center.
He was a member of IBEW 110 Club for 38 years, the Elks Lodge #2399, VFW Post #940, IBEW Local #551 in Santa Rosa, California, and IBEW Local # 97 for 60 years. He moved here 3 years ago from Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

He is survived by three sons, David, James and Dewayne Allen; seven step-children, Vickie Dent, Terry Monroe, Deborah Burkhead, Lela Wooldridge, LouAnn LaVarier, Larry Wilson and Alice Wilson; one brother, Brooks Griffith and wife Sonya of Jonesboro; one uncle A. D. Allen of Peoria, Illinois; fifteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lu; parents, Raymond K. Allen and Annie (Blalock) Allen Griffith; and two brothers.
Memorial services will be held June 26, at 1 p.m. at Hurricane Mills, Tennessee at the IBEW Reunion.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family, in care of Deborah Burkhead to be given to a charity of choice.
