Rayford Carroll Fisher

Rayford Carroll Fisher of Jonesboro,departed this life on September 21, 2007, at the age of 70, at his home.
He was born November 11, 1936 in Memphis Tennessee to Willie and Minnie Rook Fisher.
and was a retired manager for Stone Container and a U.S. Navy Veteran.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and also performed volunteer work for the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church where he was a group leader in the youth ministries Awana Club, and was the fifth grade assistant Sunday school teacher.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Fisher.

Survived by his loving wife, Wilma Fisher of the home.

One son: Tony Fisher of Mountain Home, Arkansas.

One daughter: Monica Dobbins of Ohio.

His mother: Pauline Fisher of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Two brothers Gary Fisher and Stanley Fisher, both of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

One sister: Joy Hodges of Paragould, Arkansas.

Step children: Anna Wade of Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
Teresa Varughese of Houston, Texas.
James Hatley of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Michael Hatley of Prescott, Arkansas.

Twelve grandchildren and one great grand-child.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday September 24, 2007, at the Walnut Street Baptist Church with Dr. Glen Putman officiating. Burial will be private, with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.

Ray has asked that lasting memorial be given to the Walnut Street Baptist Church Building Fund. 1910 Scenic Dr. Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
