Rayburn G. Richardson

November 7, 1935 — December 1, 2012

Rayburn G. Richardson, 77, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, December 1, 2012, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born in Sage, Arkansas, Rayburn lived in Brockwell before moving to Jonesboro in 1993. He was a graduate of Arkansas College (presently Lyon College) in Batesville.

Rayburn coached, taught and served as Superintendent at Violet Hill High School for several years before accepting the position of Executive Director of the North Central Arkansas Development Council. Following his tenure with NADC, Rayburn taught and coached at Melbourne High School until his retirement.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a cattle farmer and was preceded in death by 3 brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Perryman Richardson of the home;

1 son: Lee Richardson (Ronda) of Jonesboro;

1 daughter, Sueann (Marty) Pace of Jonesboro;

1 brother, Jim Richardson of Melbourne;

1 sister, Rita Palmero of Conway; and

4 grandchildren: Cody Pace, Cole Pace and Sabrina Richardson, all of Jonesboro, and Victor Richardson (Josie) of Little Rock.

All services will be private. There will be no visitation.
