Ray M. Wood, 87, a life long resident of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at NEA Baptist Medical Center. He was born June 14, 1934, to John and Ethel (Keller) Wood in Jonesboro. He was a long-time member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. He spent most of his career as a brick mason, many of the houses and commercial structures can still be seen today. He served his country in the US Army, serving in Korea. A favorite pastime was fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Hansen Wood; and one son, Steve Wood. Survivors include one son, Robbie Wood and wife Sue of Pleasanton, Texas; daughters, Patti Johnson and her husband Steve of Jonesboro; Pam Chappell and husband Robert of Bono; six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a late date, under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home. All other services are private. For lasting memorials, please consider, Mt.
