Ray Robertson, 94, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehab Center in Arkadelphia.
Born in Mesquite, Texas, one of ten children, Mr. Robertson lived much of his life in Jonesboro and Monette before moving to Arkadelphia earlier this year. Ray was a salesman for Krey Packing Company and following retirement, worked for Stringer’s Piano in Jonesboro.
Ray was a member of Central Baptist Church in Jonesboro and was an ordained deacon. He was a past president of the Monette Lions Club and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, and a great granddaughter, Addison Erwin.
Survivors include: 2 daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Jerry Schleiff of Arkadelphia, and Linda and Ron Erwin of Jonesboro;
1 son and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Donna Robertson of Memphis;
1 brother: O.L. Robertson of Leachville;
1 sister: Sue Hester of Dallas, Texas;
5 grandchildren: Stephanie Ousley, Kristin Cherry, Mark Schleiff, Jeff Erwin and Brian Erwin; and
13 great grandchildren: Mallory, Stephen, Jessica, Ben, Emily, Suzannah, Anna, Joshua, Emma, Jack, Brant, Kobe and Bella.
A celebration of Ray’s life will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:00 in Central Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Schleiff and Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial will be private in Nettleton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Mark Schleiff, Jeff Erwin, Brian Erwin, Doug Cherry, and Rob Ousley.
Visitation will be held Friday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
