Ray Higgins

Ray Higgins, 70, of Jonesboro passed from this life January 21, 2014 at his home. Ray was born to the late Roy and Lorene Higgins in Birmingham, AL. He has spent the last 43 years residing in Jonesboro. Ray worked for City Water & Light of Jonesboro for fourteen years before opening in his own auto business. He was an avid fisherman who hunted and also enjoyed restoration of older cars. He was a very generous man who loved helping others. Ray’s grandchildren were all very special to him.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; one son: Brad Higgins; one sister: Gail Higgins.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of 51years, Patricia Higgins of the home; one son: Jeff Higgins of Jonesboro; two brothers: Rex Higgins (Wanda) of Hartselle, AL and Robert Higgins of Hoxie; one sister: Linda Ball (Bobby) of Vinemont, AL; four grandchildren: Cody Higgins, Jesse Higgins, Katelynn Higgins, and Koen Poynor: daughter n laws: Terrie Higgins & Mary Brooks

Graveside service will be 2:30 P.M. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Pine Log Cemetery with Brother Jerry Thompson officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers will include: Lee Dillard, Homer Adams, Gary Adams, Erich Higgins, Dale Patterson, and Vernon Winters.

Visitation will be from 12-2 P.M. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Emerson Funeral Home.
