Ray Odell Gibson

Ray Odell Gibson, 89, of Jonesboro passed from this life Wednesday September 18, 2024 at the Flo & Phil Jonesboro Hospice House. He was born September 25, 1934 in Newark to the late Clede and Lucille Gibson.

Ray has lived in Jonesboro since 1961 and was a member of North Main Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher for many years. Ray worked for over 40 years at Massanelli's Laundry and Cleaners here in Jonesboro. He was a very loving Daddy, Pawpaw, husband, brother and a good Christian man.

In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Gibson; brothers, Larry Gibson, Lindsey Gibson and RC Gibson as well as a sister, Mary Lou Clark.

He is survived by his daughter, Vickie (Rickey) Timms of Jonesboro; brother, Phillip Gibson; sister, Sally Logan; grandchildren, Scotty (Tiffani) Timms, Amber (David) Roshto, Cheyanna Gonzalez, Jennifer Gibson and Diane (Coy) Yancey; great grandchildren, Zander Roshto, Cannon Roshto, Levi Roshto, Nolan Palmer, Asher Timms, Chrisley Timms, Scarlett Combs, Jordan Combs and Chase Yancey; great-great grandchild, Axel Kelley as well as a beloved good friend who was like a granddaughter, Jami Householder and her family.

Visitation will be on Saturday September 21, 2024 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Watson and Pastor Jeff Adams officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include David Roshto, Jake Householder, Coy Yancey, Levi Roshto, Zander Roshto, Chase Yancey, Asher Timms and Jordan Combs.
