Ray Gene Prince, 60, of Jonesboro passed away Saturday, April 29th, 2017 at his home. He was born on July 25th, 1956 in Newport, AR to Orville and Wilma Prince.
Ray was a long time member of First Baptist Church Jonesboro. He served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years. He was a loving son, brother, father, and Poppa. Ray was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Wilma Watkins Prince of Jonesboro, his brother, Randall Prince (Thelma) of Jonesboro, and his daughters, Brianne Fowlkes (Clay) of Fayetteville and Danae Sandusky (Blake) of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by two nephews, Ryan and Cade Prince of Jonesboro, and four grandchildren, Whitman David, Asher Ray, and Adelynn Jean Fowlkes and Everett Porter Sandusky.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Tuesday, May 2 at Emerson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, May 3rd in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bruce Venable officiating. Burial will follow at Ballew’s Chapel Cemetery in Grubbs, AR. Active pallbearers will be Ryan Prince, Cade Prince, Ken Gibson, Scott Despain, David Bettis, and Randy Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Richard Lusby Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church Jonesboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that lasting memorials be made to The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge at 2008 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203 or to First Baptist Church Jonesboro Care Center at 701 South Main Street Jonesboro, AR 72401.
