Raul Flores

Raul N. Flores, 87, of Jonesboro, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center. He had lived in Jonesboro for the past six years, moving here from N. Little Rock. Raul was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the United States as a teenager. He joined the US Air Force and served his country during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired as a Senior Master Sargent, after serving faithfully for 28 years. During his time in service he received two Meritorious Service Medals, and an Air Force Commendation Medal. He was also a member of the 366th TFW Gunfighters of Danang. Raul was the owner and operator of the Flores Appliance Sales and Service Company for over 14 years.

Raul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family was very important to him and he cherished the time he was able to spend with his loved ones. His sense of humor was funny and very dry; normally a quiet man, however he could always make you laugh and smile. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Estha Annelene Flores, of the home; son, Raul Flores Junior and wife Cynthia of Rancho Santa Margarita, California; daughters, DiAlma Young and husband, Martin of Jonesboro; Patty Molitor and husband, Tim of Bentonville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Amanda Young, Mason Young, Evan Flores, Anna Flores, Austin Molitor and Alex Molitor; one great grandchild, Kylie Ann Harvey.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, June 10, 2016 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Larry Bailey officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Family will pay their final respects by serving as pallbearers and burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Roddy Thrasher will be an honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM on Friday until service time.
