Ranuel L. Looney, 70 of Bay, passed away Monday morning at his residence.
He was born in Caraway, Arkansas and had lived in Bay since 1955. He was a retired cotton ginner and a member of the Alsup Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for five years. Was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved A.S.U. Basketball games, and just enjoyed life in general.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Lorene Grimes Looney, one brother Sam Looney and one sister, Wanda Ballard.
Survived by his loving wife of forty nine years, Erma Looney of the home.
Two sons; Danny Looney and his wife Gina of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
Michael Looney and his wife Paula of Bay, Arkansas.
Five Brothers; Johnny Looney of Bay, Billy Looney of Trumann, Roger Looney, Bobby and Jerry Looney all of Troy, Missouri.
One sister; Carolyn Kenny of Harrisburg, Arkansas.
His loving rat terrier dog; Baby Doll.
Eight Grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday February 6, 2008 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Leon Minick officiating. Burial will be at Bowman Cemetery in Lake City with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday February 5, 2008 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers will be Corbert Rodgers, Phillip Rodgers, Jimmy Rodgers, Donnie Rodgers, Brandy Scott, William Davidson, and Marty Champlin.
