Randy Hanson, 56, of Jonesboro, died Sunday morning at his home. He had lived in Jonesboro his entire life and was the owner/operator of an auto supply store and was a veteran of the Jonesboro Fire Department. A 1969 graduate of Jonesboro High School, Randy loved to hunt and fish. He loved vacations camping at Norfork Lake and the Spring River. Randy greatly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was of the Baptist belief.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Hanson; his mother, Doris Hanson; his sons Brad Hanson, Brandon Hanson and his fiancé, Amanda Wooten, all of Jonesboro; his daughter and son-in-law, Amy & Sonny Shields of Augusta; his brother, Byron Hanson of Jonesboro; and his grandchildren, McKenzie Wooten, Dylan Despain, Logan Akers, and Drew Shields.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Hanson and his grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Reverend R.J. “Joe” Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Bill French, Steve French, Danny Akers, Sonny Shields, Ryan Gambill, and David Gambill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Workman, Byron Hanson, Chris Hanson, and Keith Hanson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
